Patch 4.8 Hero Builds

Tl;dr Use these as a starting point if you’re not sure about what to build. Both build and item orders are generic (what usually is good), think with your head about the items you need, depending on the situation.

These are GENERIC Hero builds. You are supposed to buy appropriately depending on the match. Use this just to have an idea, a start point, on what you could buy.
While usually you won’t buy Poisoned Shiv on Kinetic, if the enemy’s team has a lot of healing and your team is lacking of characters capable of applying mortal wound, you might need to change the build, and buy Poisoned Shiv yourself, and eventually also change the rest of the build due to that.
While many carries will build Aegis as their only defensive items, if the enemy’s team doesn’t have any CC, you could build slumbering husk, or if they are going more for one path (weapon/crystal path) than another, then Metal Jacket or Celestial Shroud might work.
Utility builds are even more flexible than CP/WP. After a few core items, you have many choices.

Similarly, build order is generic. You might need a certain item earlier than usual. You might need to buy an Atlas Pauldron earlier to face that SAW.
Build order only takes in account T3 items. You might need a reflex block much earlier than when Aegis is listed in the build, by example. In fact, reflex block is usually built after the 2nd or 3rd damage items on most carries, and built into Aegis only much later.

As most high elo player could tell you, the in-game recommended build are in most cases quite bad. We highly recommend to use the ones below instead.

Each hero was only written with the roles and suggested build (wp, cp, utility) of the 4.8 tier list

By example, you will not find here a build for CP Ringo, since he didn’t appear in the tier list. These builds will be covered later in an upcoming article though!
